"Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation".  Mark 16:15

I grew up on a dairy farm outside of Erie, PA. I went to a small Presbyterian Church and accepted Jesus as my Savior as a teenager. Feeling God’s call into the ministry, I attained a strong Biblical education from Grove City College and attended Princeton Theological Seminary. During a student pastorate, I met my wife, Brenda, and we have been married for 35 wonderful years. Champion Presbyterian Church is only my third pastoral call in my career. For 15 years I served two small Presbyterian congregations in Delphos and Middle Point, two agricultural based towns in Western Ohio. I returned to Pennsylvania and served another 15 years at Faith Presbyterian Church in Hermitage. By God’s grace the congregation grew, necessitating the building of a new sanctuary and the hiring of more staff for new programing. In 2013, God called me and my wife to serve as missionaries in Dembi Dollo, Ethiopia. Brenda, having taught English at the college and high school levels here in the states, taught College Preparatory English to 11th and 12 grades students at our church partner’s high school. I taught Bible at the local seminary, training men and women to become ministers as well as teaching ordained pastors continuing their education. In 2016 we returned to the states and I came to serve as the pastor here at Champion Presbyterian Church. It was an easy transition as the church had supported us while serving in Ethiopia and we were already acquainted with the congregation. Brenda and I have two sons, Josh, a banker, and Caleb, a teacher. Josh and his wife gave us three beautiful grandchildren. The people here at Champion Presbyterian Church love the Lord and are excited about serving him. Consequently, the church offers a wide range of ministries to people of all ages. It is an honor to be the pastor of a church which has a strong desire to do outreach into our community and share the salvation message throughout the world. Pastor Steve Stelle
